Lady beetle and Swarm time |

The first light frost has hit, and now lady beetles, cluster flies and wasps will be making their way into you homes to spend the winter in quiet solitude (!) until spring, or any warm day in winter when it is convenient to invade your living space. Treating now to kill them before they get settled is a lot easier than waiting until the middle of winter when we really don't have sufficient access to them. Call us.
SWARMS of ants. Swarms are here! We are now seeing a lot of swarm activity. Mostly they are ants. A lot of folks think they are termites and freak out. Yes, they are cute as the dickens. Yes, they taste okay. No, you can't really make a meal of them (it takes too many). Call us if you think you have some, as ants are also on the move right now, and some folks have a hard time telling them apart. The photos in the termite gallery may help. The photo below is not of termites damage, but a roofer said it was because of tiny white bugs crawling on it. The bugs were book lice (psocids) who were on the wood because they eat the mold growing on it. The damage is rot, from a leaking gutter. So you know..... Bug bombs don't work. We got called by the wife while the husband was out buying "bed bug bombs" at a local hardware store. She had roaches and bed bugs, and the current survice company was not able to kill the roaches, and wanted "too much" for the bed bug work. We made an appointment for the next day. That night the husband set off 25 bed bug bombs, roughly six times the labeled limit for the space in his house. By the grace of God the house did not explode. Had she mentioned what he was doing, we would have advised against it. When we got there we found live roaches and live bed bugs. Lots of them. The roaches were on their backs (mostly) but very much alive, and recovering nicely. The bed bugs were not affected at all. Do yourself a favor: Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
